Police station attack: students remanded
Thrissur Judicial First Class Magistrate K. Subhadrama on Saturday remanded five students of Thrissur Engineering College to judicial custody for attacking Viyyur police station and assaulting a Sub-Inspector Sajil Sasi, who was on duty.
According to the police sources, a group of engineering students on Friday night stormed into Viyyur police station demanding release of their fellow students who were taken in custody for consuming liquor at public place.
The SI who suffered head injury was admitted to hospital.
