One more quarantined for suspected H1N1 in Kochi
Aluva, Friday 10 July 2009: A passenger, who arrived here from Jeddah, has been quarantined after he was suspected to be having symptoms of H1N1 flu, a top Health official said. The passenger, who hails from Purayar near here, had arrived four days ago, airport sources said. He was admitted to a hospital following fever and cough and was referred to Aluva Taluk hospital yesterday.
The 48-year-old man’s throat swab has been sent to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases, New Delhi, Dr K Shylaja, Director of Health services said. Ten persons have tested positive for the flu in Kerala out of the 60 swabs tested over the past few weeks
